The 2026 Jeep Compass has been updated in Brazil with an important new feature: a flex-fuel version of its 2.0-liter turbo petrol engine. This means the top-trim Compass can now run on gasoline, ethanol, or any blend of the two — a preference in the Brazilian market where ethanol is widely used and often more affordable.

This updated engine, known as the Hurricane 2.0 turbo flex-fuel, continues to produce around 272 hp and 400 Nm of torque without sacrificing performance. With this powertrain, the SUV can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in about 6.3 seconds, and it retains four-wheel drive capability, offering confident performance both on city roads and more challenging terrain.

To make the engine compatible with flex fuel, Jeep’s engineering team made several adjustments under the hood, including new fuel pumps, spark plugs, injectors, and tweaks to the intake and turbo systems. These changes help the engine stay responsive and robust even when switching between different fuel types.

The new flex-fuel version is offered in the Blackhawk trim at roughly the same price as before, allowing buyers to choose between traditional gasoline and ethanol based on cost and availability.
This development highlights Jeep’s effort to tailor its vehicles to local fuel preferences and improve flexibility for drivers in markets like Brazil.
