Moving Up the Throne: 2026 MG Majestor Set to Debut as the Brand’s New Flagship

The Toyota Fortuner has long enjoyed a nearly untouchable status in India, but the competition is heating up. MG Motor India has just locked in February 12, 2026, for the unveiling of its most ambitious SUV yet: the MG Majestor.

Positioned above the already massive Gloster, the Majestor isn’t just about size—it’s a statement of luxury. Here’s what we know about the SUV that wants to redefine the “Flagship” experience.

1. Design: Commanding Presence

If the Gloster was imposing, the Majestor is regal. Based on its appearance at the Auto Expo 2025 and recent spy shots, the Majestor features:

  • An Upright Stance: A massive gloss-black grille dominated the front, flanked by vertically stacked LED projector headlamps.
  • Modern Lighting: Slim LED DRLs sit at the top, giving it a high-tech “brow.”
  • The “Blacked-Out” Look: Expect 19-inch dual-tone alloys, black body cladding, and blacked-out roof rails that give it a stealthy yet premium silhouette.
  • Rear Aesthetics: Connected LED taillamps run across the tailgate, a design trend that MG is perfecting for its 2026 lineup.

2. A First-Class Cabin Experience

The Majestor isn’t just a 7-seater; it’s a lounge on wheels. The interior is where MG plans to steal customers from more expensive luxury brands:

  • Dual-Screen Setup: A layered dashboard design features a massive digital infotainment system and a driver’s display that’s expected to be even larger than the Gloster’s.
  • Premium Comfort: Beyond the usual ventilated and powered front seats, the Majestor is rumored to feature rear-seat ventilation and massage functions in its 6-seater (captain seat) layout.
  • More Tech: Think additional wireless chargers for rear passengers, a high-end branded audio system with extra speakers, and rear sunshades for that “VIP” privacy.

3. The Heart of the Beast

While MG hasn’t confirmed the final specs, all signs point to it sharing the proven heart of the Gloster. This means we can expect:

  • The 2.0L Twin-Turbo Diesel: Producing a healthy 216 PS and 478 Nm of torque.
  • 4WD Capability: Like any true flagship SUV, it will feature a proper Four-Wheel Drive system with multiple terrain modes.
  • 8-Speed Automatic: Smooth, effortless shifts from the torque converter gearbox to handle the SUV’s immense weight and power.

4. Safety: ADAS and Beyond

MG was the first to bring ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems) to this segment with the Gloster, and the Majestor will likely push that further. Expect a full Level 2 suite including Adaptive Cruise Control, Blind Spot Detection, and perhaps even more refined Collision Avoidance systems to keep its occupants in a 5-star safety bubble.

Carbhumi’s Take

With an expected starting price around ₹46 Lakh (ex-showroom), the Majestor isn’t chasing the budget buyer. It’s chasing the person who wants the size of a Fortuner but the tech and luxury of a German SUV.

If MG can get the ride quality and brand prestige right, the Majestor could very well live up to its name. Mark your calendars for February 12—this is going to be big.
