2026 Trident 660 and Tiger Sport Unveiled

The middleweight triple-cylinder world just got a whole lot more exciting. Triumph has officially pulled the wraps off the 2026 Trident 660 and Tiger Sport 660, and these aren’t just minor paint-and-sticker jobs. We’re talking about the most comprehensive mechanical and tech updates these bikes have seen since their debut.

Here’s what’s changing for the roadster and its touring sibling as they head toward an Indian launch later this year.

1. A Massive Power Bump

The biggest headline is the re-tuned 660cc triple engine. Triumph has swapped the single throttle body for three individual 44mm throttle bodies (one for each cylinder).

  • Power: Jumps from 81 PS to a much punchier 95 PS.
  • Torque: Increased to 68 Nm, with 80% of that torque available as low as 3,000 rpm.
  • Redline: The engine now screams all the way to 12,650 rpm (a 20% increase!).
  • Better Breathing: A larger airbox and a new 3-into-1 exhaust header mean these bikes will sound and feel much more aggressive throughout the rev range.

2. 2026 Triumph Trident 660: Sharper & Comfiet

The Trident 660 remains the gateway into the Triumph world, but for 2026, it gets some serious hardware upgrades.

  • Handling: New Showa 41mm USD Big Piston forks and an updated rear suspension unit promise even better agility.
  • Ergonomics: The fuel tank has been redesigned to be wider with better knee recesses, making it easier to “grip” the bike during spirited cornering.
  • Fresh Colors: Look out for Cosmic Yellow, Stone Grey, and Snowdonia White, all featuring bold new graphics.

3. 2026 Tiger Sport 660: The Long-Distance Pro

The adventure-sports tourer gets the same engine and chassis tweaks, but with a focus on range and comfort.

  • Go Further: It now sports a larger 18.6-litre fuel tank, making those highway stints much longer between fuel stops.
  • New Look: The front fascia has been updated, and the radiator cowls are now more aggressive.
  • Colors: Available in Interstellar Blue & Mineral Grey, Silver Ice & Intense Orange, and Pure White.

4. Advanced Tech as Standard

Both bikes are getting smarter. The 6-speed gearbox has been revised with new ratios, and Triumph Shift Assist (Quickshifter) and the Slip & Assist clutch have both been recalibrated for smoother, faster gear changes.

When are they coming to India?

While these bikes will hit UK showrooms in March 2026, we expect them to land in India later this year.

  • Estimated Price: In the UK, the Trident 660 starts around £8,095 (~₹9.95 lakh) and the Tiger Sport at £9,295 (~₹11.42 lakh). Expect a slight premium over the current Indian prices when they arrive here.

Carbhumi Tip: If you were planning on buying the current 660 models, it might be worth waiting a few months. That 14 PS power jump and the improved suspension will likely make the 2026 models feel like entirely different (and much faster) machines.
