I’ve been driving my Hyundai Creta for over one year and around 15,000 km, so I thought I’d share a long-term review from a daily owner’s point of view.
Overall Impression
After living with the Creta for this long, it feels like a very reliable and refined SUV. It’s not perfect, but for family use and everyday driving, it’s hard to beat.

Design & Looks
Even after a year, I still really like the way the Creta looks. It has a clean and modern design that still feels current on the road. The front grille and LED lights give it a premium presence. I get good attention at traffic lights and from people who ask about the car.
Pros:
✔ Looks fresh even after a long time
✔ Doesn’t feel outdated despite newer models coming
Comfort & Practicality
The Creta has comfortable seats — even after long drives, I don’t feel tired. The rear seats are spacious, and my family finds the ride smooth. Boot space is decent for our weekend luggage and groceries.
What I Love:
- Good headroom and legroom
- Cooling is fast and effective — important in our summer!
- Practical space for all my stuff

Performance & Driving
I have the 1.5 petrol engine, and it’s been a reliable performer. It’s not super sporty, but it’s perfect for city driving and highway cruising. The engine is smooth, and I rarely feel strain overtaking.
The automatic gearbox (CVT/TC-like) is responsive most of the time and makes driving in traffic easy. Fuel efficiency has been decent — around 13–15 km/l in city driving and closer to 16–18 km/l on highways, depending on how I drive.
Build Quality & Reliability
This is the part that has impressed me the most. Over a year:
- No major issues so far
- Regular servicing has been smooth
- No rattles or squeaks even after rough roads
It feels solid and well-built, and that gives confidence on long drives.

Technology & Features
The Creta’s feature list keeps up well:
- Large infotainment screen
- Wireless Android Auto / Apple CarPlay
- Connected car tech
- Good sound system
- Sunroof still works great
Some people talk about lag in the system sometimes — I noticed it occasionally, but nothing major.
Fuel Economy
Real-world mileage is good for an SUV of this size (your numbers may vary based on driving style), and the Creta hasn’t disappointed me on that front.
Long-Term Problems (Minor)
✔ Infotainment sometimes lags
✔ Alloy wheels have minor scratches after city use
✔ Some plastics feel average compared to newer rivals
None of these are deal-breakers, just small things in daily life.
Verdict: Should You Buy It?
After one year with the Creta, I’d say yes — especially if you want:
- A comfortable and reliable SUV
- Good feature list
- Easy daily driving and decent long-trip capability
It’s not the most exciting SUV to drive, and some rivals may have sharper performance or newer tech, but the Creta continues to feel like a trusted all-rounder even after a year of ownership.
