Mercedes-Benz V-Class Returns to India: The Ultimate Luxury MPV Is Back!

The luxury MPV segment in India is about to get a whole lot more sophisticated. After a brief hiatus, the Three-Pointed Star is bringing back the Mercedes-Benz V-Class to our shores. Scheduled for a March 2026 launch, this isn’t just a van; it’s a private jet on wheels designed for those who prioritize space, comfort, and status.

Whether you’re a high-flying executive or part of a large luxury-seeking family, the return of the V-Class is big news.

Fresh Face, Classic Luxury

The 2026 V-Class comes with a significant design overhaul. The front fascia is now more imposing, featuring a massive grille with an illuminated border (on higher trims) and new multi-beam LED headlamps. It feels much more aligned with the current Mercedes-Benz luxury car lineup, moving away from its commercial roots.

At the back, updated LED tail lamps and a new chrome trim piece on the tailgate round off the premium look.

A Cabin That Redefines Comfort

The real magic of the V-Class happens once the sliding doors open. The interior has been completely revamped:

  • Dual-Screen Cockpit: A new dashboard layout features two 12.3-inch displays housed under a single glass pane, running the latest MBUX infotainment system.
  • The “VVIP” Experience: The middle-row captain seats are essentially lounge chairs, offering heating, ventilation, and massage functions, along with footrests for ultimate relaxation.
  • Ambiance: With 64-color ambient lighting and a high-end Burmester surround sound system, the cabin atmosphere is unmatched in this segment.

Performance and Efficiency

Under the hood, the V-Class is expected to feature a 2.0-litre four-cylinder diesel engine, available in multiple states of tune. This engine is known for its refinement and effortless torque, making long highway cruises a breeze. It will be paired with the smooth 9G-TRONIC automatic transmission as standard.

For those looking toward the future, there are whispers that Mercedes might eventually introduce the EQV (the all-electric version) to rival high-end electric SUVs like the Mahindra XUV.e8.

Market Rivalry and Pricing

The V-Class will land right in the crosshairs of the Toyota Vellfire. While the Vellfire has enjoyed a bit of a monopoly lately, the Mercedes badge and its superior tech might tilt the scales back toward the German camp.

As a CBU (Completely Built Unit), the Mercedes-Benz V-Class price is expected to start north of ₹1.2 crore (ex-showroom).

March 2026 is shaping up to be a massive month for luxury launches. Stay tuned to carbhumi.com for more updates on the latest car news in India.
